Barbara Ann Hearn, aged 72, of Warren County, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on August 15, 2023, at St Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Born on June 17, 1951, she lived a life dedicated to her family, community, and cherished values. Barbara will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering devotion and timeless virtues.

Barbara’s professional journey included a successful career as a Tax Preparer for H&R Block, where she skillfully assisted countless individuals with their financial matters. After retiring from Ergon in 2019, she dedicated herself to nurturing her family and finding solace in the beauty of nature. Her genuine love for her family was evident in the countless joyful moments she shared with them, especially her beloved granddaughters, Alana Rea Hearn and Kylie Leanna Hearn.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kimberly Hearn Boyles (Jaret Brant Boyles), and her son, Jessie Scott Hearn (Melissa Harris Hearn). Barbara’s sister, Glenda Hooks (Jim) Willoughby , and sister-in-laws, Judy Hooks, Sandra (Kelly) Worthy, Wanda (Curtis) Whatley, Sharon (RD) Forbes will forever hold her dear in their hearts. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and her church community, all of whom were touched by her kindness and grace.

Barbara is now reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death, including her father, Thomas Nelson Hooks, her mother, Bessie Hilda Hooks, her beloved husband who she was reunited with on their 52nd wedding anniversary 8/15/2023, Douglas Ray Hearn, and her siblings: Thomas Ray Hooks, Gary Wendell Hooks, Douglas Wayne Hooks, and Hilda Faye Hooks Hearn Powell. May they find eternal peace together.

Barbara’s faith was an essential part of her life, and she found solace and guidance at Bradley’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Her commitment to her spiritual journey was unwavering, and she valued the fellowship and support of her church family.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday morning, August 18, 2023, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, located at 5000 Indiana Ave, Vicksburg, Mississippi 39180. A chapel service will follow at 11:00 am in the same location, providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather and pay their respects. Barbara will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery, located at 191 Highway 80, Vicksburg, MS 39180, in a graveside service that will honor her life and legacy. Pallbearers will be Scooter Madison, William Hearn, Anthony Hearn, William Pearson, John Ervin and Ricky Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Willoughby, Kelly Worthy, Hank Hearn, Criss Zebert, Bill Marcusian, Jamie Davis and T.R. Hilderbrand.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mississippi Burn Center, Bradley’s Chapel United Methodist Church, PAWS Rescue or Micah’s Mission. These organizations held a special place in Barbara’s heart, and donations in her honor will continue to support causes she deeply cared about.

Barbara Ann Hearn’s memory will forever be cherished as a symbol of tradition, love, and timeless values. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate to have known her. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
