Barge strikes Highway 80 Bridge

Today, Monday, April 27, at or about 12:43 p.m. a barge struck the Mississippi River bridge.

Five barges have broken lose. There are no reports of injury.

The U.S. Coast Guard is responding along with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and tow boats from Ergon.

This is a breaking and fluid story.
