Barry still bringing a significant amount of rainfall

Tropical storm Barry has shifted his track to the west but is still planning on leaving a bunch of water here.
The significant threat from Barry is unchanged. The Vicksburg area and the South Delta will still receive several inches of rain as a result of this storm. The clouds and rain will continue through Tuesday. Over that period of time, we will get an estimated 4 inches to 8 inches of rainfall.
The storm will continue its track north in the Mississippi Valley and dump an inconceivable amount of rainwater that will drain down the Mississippi River. That rainwater will keep the river level from falling. The Mississippi River at Vicksburg is currently in its 146th consecutive day of being above flood level.
Those impacted by the Backwater Flood will see the amount of water on the ground increase, further extending the flood event for them.
Flash flooding will occur. If you come to a roadway that is covered, turn around, don’t drown.
If you find yourself in a situation where you need assistance call 911. They will help you. First responders would much prefer you err out of caution and call them rather than recovering your body and explaining to your family what happened.
