Be weather aware. Tropical storms leave little notice for tornado warnings
As tropical storm Claudette moves through the region this weekend, it is important to stay weather aware.
Tropical storms can spawn tornadoes. While often weak, they can still prove to be very much fatal.
According to a report by WVTM13, the tropical storm has already spawned tornadoes in the states of Alabama and Florida.
Their report states that a tornado made touch down in East Brewton, Alabama around 7:30 am on Saturday. Several injuries and damaged homes were reported. The aftermath led to entrapments and downed powerlines in the roadways.
Due to the spin-up nature of the storms, the National Weather Service in Birmingham is warning those in the area there will be little advanced notice of tornado activity.
