Beau Davis is ready for a big year in the trenches

Warren Central High football player Beau Davis is full of confidence about the Viking program as he heads into his senior season.
“I feel great. I believe we’ll be one of the best teams in 6A. We got some strong 7A teams to begin with, but I’m one of those guys who believes that iron sharpens iron so I know we’ll be alright,” Davis said.
In 2022, Davis developed his skill as an impact player at the center position. He became a key figure in the trenches.
He blocked for an offense that rushed for over 2,000 yards and 1,700 passing yards. His athleticism aided WC ti reach the second round of the playoffs.
“At first I feel like I struggled, but it was more of me learning and getting experience. As the season went on, I think I played some of the best football in my career and I believe I’ll transport that over to this year,” Davis said.
Davis’ junior year highlighted more growth. As his blocking game improved, WC continued to crush multiple teams, including a notable game against Gulfport, where the offensive line was the main contributors to that win.
Davis now has his eyes set on multiple goals for him and his team for the 2023 season and recently received a scholarship offer to play at Millsaps College.
“We want a state championship now because we went to the playoffs for a number of years so we’re aiming high this year and we want to win it all,” said Davis.
WC’s season will begin on Aug. 25. The Vikings are set to play Clinton High School in the Red Carpet Bowl.
