Bednar and Hoglund both selected in the MLB first round

Mississippi State and Ole Miss baseball players Will Bednar and Gunner Hoglund were both selected in the first round of the MLB Draft on Sunday.

Bulldogs player Bednar was selected 14th by the San Francisco Giants. He was the MVP of the College World Series this year as MSU won the National Title.

Hoglund, the Rebels right hand pitcher, was selected 19th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays. He threw 96 strikeouts this season as Ole Miss finished with a 45-22 record.

Both standout players can choose to return to their university if they want or enter into the pros for the next season.
