Bednar named College World Series MVP
Mississippi State University baseball player Will Bednar has been named as the College World Series Most Valuable Player.
Bendar pitched six innings in the final championship game, and he closed the door on Vanderbilt, throwing for four strikeouts and not allowing a single hit.
Bednar’s Wednesday night performance sealed the deal for Most Valuable Player, leading the Bulldogs to a historic 9-0 victory over Vanderbilt to win the school’s first national title.
The sophomore easily cleared the path for his team to bring home the title and he gave it his all until he fulfilled that purpose.
“It’s the greatest feeling ever to be a national champion, especially this group of guys,” starting pitcher Will Bednar said. “We worked so hard to get here. This is awesome. It’s unbelievable.”
