Benefit Concert for Emerick Lee:

We are hosting a benefit concert of local musicians, for our friend’s baby boy Emrick Lee Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the BB Club, 721 Clay St., Vicksburg, Ms 2 p.m-10 p.m.

Emrick has a congenital disease called Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome. It was caused by an anomaly with his chromosome. With this, he and his family have to go to the hospital every three months to do ultrasounds on his organs to make sure he isn’t developing tumors and that his organs are normal size. This disease is a growth disorder disease causing the affected to grow much larger in size than their peers. He will be monitored quarterly until he turns 8. Then all testing will be done every six months from then.

Emrick has a lymphatic malformation that was caused by the overgrowth disease. His lymph nodes in his neck grew too big and then bunched up in that spot, which has been monitored since he was born. Recently, it has begun to push on his trachea causing breathing problems. He will be starting his treatments in the next few weeks. His parents and the doctors agreed that this is the best path to avoid surgery.

Emrick has an arachnoid cyst in his brain that takes over the entire left frontal lobe of his brain which is monitored every six months to make sure it isn’t pressing or growing.

Emrick has had to endure a lot of hardships in his 2 years of life. We are trying to raise money to help cover travel and lodging for his treatments.

Please come out to support Emrick and his family Saturday, June 3.
