Bennard Craft has been sentenced in the Warren County Circuit Court for the 2020 murder of Andrew Prudhomme.

Craft pleaded guilty last month to manslaughter and was sentenced on Friday by Judge James Chaney to 20 years, with 15 to serve and five years of post-supervision.

Prosecutor Michael Warren represented the state in this case.

“We argued for the maximum sentence in this case, and we respect the court’s decision,” Warren said.

Warren also mentioned that the Vicksburg Police Department did an excellent job of investigating the case.

Prudhomme was found inside a home near a doorway to the carport at 103 Alfred Drive in the early morning hours of June 25, 2020. He had been shot at least five times.

Craft will have to serve a little over half of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
