Best Wishes Tommy Parker!

There is no wrangling in Tommy Parker.

He is his own man making his own path and his own way.

Over the last couple of years, Tommy and I have been working together off and on to provide Vicksburg with local news. The market seems to be hungry for it, and we have fun doing it.

The growth of Vicksburg Daily News has been incredible for us to see. Last month we averaged over 500,000 views. That was fed by a bunch of high profile news stories and some good local tips on what is happening. Tommy Parker was a big part of that.

Yesterday Tommy decided it was time to break out and go on his own, and we have nothing but good wishes for him. He needs to do it his way. Any amount of editing makes him cringe, and that deep-rooted independence he so enjoys needs its own outlet. We encourage you to follow Tommy on his digital platforms and keep up with what is going on in his life.

His organizational efforts at Eagle Lake along with his hard work heading up a lot of backbreaking duties were noted here when he took a break to focus on helping his neighbors at Eagle Lake. As the Great Backwater Flood continues, we anticipate Tommy will back in the flood rescue saddle again soon.

Best wishes, Tommy Parker, and thank you for all you have done. You’re going to do great with new projects, and we wish you nothing but happiness and success.
