Big Wheelie Skating Rink held ‘Back to School Glow Night’ for returning scholars

Small wheels, medium wheels and big wheels–regardless of their size, Big Wheelie Skating Rink (1729 N. Frontage Road), has them all.
Friday, the skating rink hosted “Back to School Glow Night” for students to fully welcome in the academic year by donning those wheels and skating an extra hour.
The event has become an annual happening in Vicksburg, and students are always eager to attend as the night serves as an outlet for young people to simply get out and have fun. Students lined up in front of the building almost half an hour before the doors opened, and waiting for them were snacks, music, glow sticks and, of course, a lot of skating.
“We just wanted the kids to celebrate going back to school. Last year we did it a little later in August, but this year we decided to do it the first week they went back, just for the kids who normally come to the skating rink to get to skate an hour later,” said Big Wheelie owner Deborah Morgan. “We have the lights down, and everybody has glow sticks, and we’re giving away pizza, and some brownies and cookies. We’re having a good time!”
“Back to School Glow Night” isn’t the only opportunity to enjoy a great time at the Big Wheelie Skating Rink. The rink is open to the public each Friday and Saturday.
“It’s just a safe place for the kids to come and have fun,” Morgan said.
