The City of Vicksburg welcomes everyone to come see the FIRST ever indoor Pro Series Catfish weigh-in at the Vicksburg Convention Center. Never has a catfish weigh-in happened indoors, complete with anglers, gear, trucks and boats driving into the VCC.

The doors will open at 3pm for the public to come in and shop with vendors, meet John Godwin from Duck Dynasty and maybe even spot Bill Dance himself. The anglers will start pulling into the VCC at 5:30pm to start the weigh in. Awards will be announced at 8pm.

Erin Southard, Executive Director of the Vicksburg Convention Center said, “This is huge, not only for the Convention Center, but our whole community. So many partners have been working together to sprinkle all of the southern charm we can and let them know Vicksburg is the best place to be. We are excited to see these monster catfish tomorrow and hope people come out to show these men and women some great Mississippi hospitality. The anglers have come to Vicksburg from far and wide.”

In addition to the tournament, area restaurants are featuring special catfish offerings in hopes of winning the people’s choice award. Voting begins at 3pm at the VCC- and the only way to vote is to come to the VCC. Representatives from Visit Vicksburg will be on hand to collect votes. The winner will be awarded a $500 shopping spree in Downtown Vicksburg. Participating restaurants are: Beechwood, Blues Le Roux, Cocktails 101, Café’ Anchuca, Gumbo Pot, Riverwalk Casino, Rusty’s Toney’s, Walnut Hills and 10 South.
