Billie Burditt Kowen

Mrs. Billie Louise (Burditt) Kowen passed away after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at the age of 74. Billie was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi where she remained throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of the Warren Central Highschool class of ’67. She was also a loving member of Highland Baptist Church and greatly enjoyed volunteering in the nursery. Mrs. Billie was known as “Nana” to many and dearly loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren with all her heart.

She is the daughter of the late George and Mary Burditt and is proceeded in death by her parents as well as her loving younger sister, Mrs. Doris Twisdale.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Mr. Frank Kowen; daughter, Toni Renee’ Miller (Shane), and son Robert Kelly Kowen (Becky). She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Kory Miller Reynolds (Cody), Klaire Miller Shawl (Daniel), Robert Brayden Kowen, Madelyn Joyce Kowen; and two great-grandchildren; Sawyer Miller Reynolds and Chase Davis Reynolds. She is also survived by a younger brother, Mr. James Carl Burditt.

All services, visitation and funeral, will be held at Highland Baptist Church with visitation starting at 9 a.m. and the funeral to immediately follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Billie asks for donations to either Highland Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Pallbearers will be; Terry “Bubba” Lyle Twisdale Jr, George Robert Twisdale, David Clayton Twisdale, Michael Hedrick, Mike Woodrick, and Todd Downey.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Mickey Simmons, Cecil Simmons Jr, Davey Simmons, Oscar Barnes, Bill Downey, Willie Woodrick, Brian Woodrick, and her uncle, Mr. Billy Hearn.
