Billie “Sue” Evans, 1954 – 2023

Billie “Sue” Evans, of Vicksburg, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at the age of 68. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She selflessly dedicated her life to the care of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Vernie Moore, son Jeffrey Evans, sister Jackie Hewitt, and brothers Vernon Nettles, Alvin Brooks, and Mack Moore.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Maurice “Wayne” Evans, brothers Billy Moore, Jeff Moore, Steve Moore and Andy Brooks, son John Evans, daughters Rachel Harrell, Kristi Gordon, Erin Fleming, and Megan Brooks, grandsons Ty Harrell, Mikey Harrell, Sebastian Nugent, and Gabriel Gordon, granddaughter Baylee Mathews, and great-granddaughter Raelynn Harrell.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House in Jackson, MS.
