Blood drive at Vicksburg Walmart today

Blood supplies in Mississippi have been depleted in the past few weeks, and blood donations are needed to ensure all Mississippians are able to get blood when they need it.

Today, Tuesday, March 31, the Mississippi Blood Services Donor Coach will be set up at Walmart (2150 Iowa Blvd.) from noon until 6 p.m.

To keep donors and staff safe, MBS spokeswoman Tammy Bouchillon says there may be a longer wait to donate as they are limiting the number of people in the coach to comply with social distancing guidelines. In addition, all surfaces inside the bus are cleaned with disinfectant after each donation.

Blood donors receive a $10 Visa gift card, a T-shirt and a snack.
