A boat was impounded after being found abandoned at the LeTourneau boat ramp.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace stated Vicksburg-Warren 911 was alerted to a boat which was blocking the boat ramp at LeTourneau on Friday.

Upon arrival, authorities located the watercraft and tried to locate a hull number, but found the numbers were removed, which Pace stated is a crime. Authorities from Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks were notified to assist.

The owner of the craft could not be found. Pace stated there was no cause to believe it had been left there by accident and appeared as though it was intentionally abandoned.

The boat was taken into impound. MDWFP and Warren County Sheriffs Office are working together on this case. It is unknown at this time if the vessel was stolen.
