BOMA votes to close and vacate portions of Eastland Drive
On Monday, the Board of Mayor and Alderman voted to adopt an ordinance closing and vacating a certain portion of Eastland Drive in Vicksburg.
This ordinance followed a petition that was submitted on behalf of Cappaert Investment Corporation by Bob Lloyd and Foam Packaging, Inc. who requested that a certain portion of Eastland Drive be closed and vacated.
“The petition is on the West Side and the East side portion of this particular property,” explained Monica Allen, City Prosecutor from the legal team. “There’s also not a continued through-street through said property, and they’re asking that the City approve closure of the same.”
According to the ordinance document, the petitioners own all the land adjoining these sections, and its closing will “not deny access to any property owner, nor will it affect the public use and enjoyment of other streets in the city of Vicksburg.”
The motion was accepted and passed unanimously by the Board.
