Bomb threat at the U.S. Library of Congress

Police investigated a report of an explosive inside of a pickup truck parked outside the Library of Congress on Thursday, according to multiple sources.

The Capitol has been placed on lockdown and the area has been evacuated until the situation is resolved. Police, SWAT and FBI have all responded to the scene.
Negotiators were sent in to talk to the man inside the truck who claimed an explosive device was inside the vehicle with him.

“Law enforcement is working to determine if the man in the pickup truck is holding a detonator and if the explosive device is operable,” reported the Associated Press.
