Bond set for suspect in shooting of four Alcorn students
The man suspected of killing two Alcorn State University students and wounding two others made his initial court appearance in Claiborne County Justice Court Thursday.
Jerrell Davis, 20, is being held on charges of aggravated assault; however, those charges will likely be upgraded. His bond was set at $200,000.
Alcorn students James Carr, 22, and Tahir Fitzhugh, 19, were shot at a bonfire 13 miles north of the school campus, south of Port Gibson, the night of Feb. 17. Two other students were wounded but survived.
The students were taken to Claiborne County Hospital where Carr and Fitzhugh died of their injuries.
