A Warren County woman is facing charges of aggravated assault for allegedly shooting another woman in the neck with a high-powered pellet gun.

On the evening of June 22, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a woman who had been shot in the neck with a pellet gun on Old Highway 27. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the victim with a neck injury.

Initial reports indicated that the victim engaged in a confrontation with Catheann Lee, a 35-year-old woman who has been identified as the suspect in the shooting.

According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, Deputy Sheriff Tonna Sims was patrolling the Jeff Davis community on June 25 when she noticed a female pedestrian walking in the roadway. Deputy Sims attempted to make contact with the individual, who turned out to be Lee. Upon spotting the deputy, Lee fled on foot.

Lee sought refuge in a nearby mobile home, prompting the dispatch of additional units. She was apprehended without further incident.

Lee made an appearance in Justice Court on Tuesday, on the charge of aggravated assault. Judge Jeff Crevitt set her bond at $5,000.
