A judge has set bonds for the two suspects in custody in connection with an April 4 shooting in Vicksburg.

The Vicksburg Police Department was notified that a gunshot victim had arrived at the Merit Health River Region Emergency Room via private vehicle on Saturday, April 4, at 1:50 p.m.

The victim, an as yet unnamed 20-year-old male, was suffering wounds to his right arm and torso, and was later airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for treatment. His condition is not known.

Chief Moore said the shooting occurred at the intersection of Fairground and Pearl streets at around 1:40 p.m. Saturday.

Sheridan Bell, 21, and his father, Keith Eric Neal, 41, both of Vicksburg, turned themselves in to police on Sunday, April 5.

Bell and Neal appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter on Monday, April 6, in Vicksburg Municipal Court, where Carpenter set bonds for both men and bound them over to the Warren County grand jury.

Bell has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. He received a $150,000 bond for the aggravated assault charge, and a $100,000 bond for shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Neal was charged with one count of obstruction of justice. His bond was set at $5,000.
