Bonita “Bonnie” Pigg: 1944-2025
VICKSBURG, Miss. — Bonita “Bonnie” Pigg passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025. She was 81 years old.
Bonnie was born Bonnie Delores Trout in Jacksonville, FL, February 6, 1944. She grew up in Ridgley, TN and in New York, NY. She graduated from Ridgley High School and moved to Memphis, TN where she attended business school. She married Roy Pigg and relocated to Jacksonville, FL and eventually to Vicksburg in 1976. She attended Hinds Jr. College, taught Kindergarten, and went to work for the Corps of Engineers in the River Operations Branch where she retired in 2006 as an Administrative Assistant. Following retirement, she devoted her sweet spirit to the healing prayer ministry at Crossway Church; watering her flowers; painting in her younger life; enjoying her family and being a great Harley passenger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elwyn Trout of Southaven, Miss. and Delores Trout of Lomita, CA. She is survived by her husband, Roy Pigg, of Vicksburg, sons Brad (Christy) and Kevin (Sabrina), six granddaughters, Brittany, Rebecca Ross (Chandler), Kyla, Ainsley, Sarah and Abby of Vicksburg and sister, Cheri Leighton of Big Bear City, CA.
Pallbearers will be Justin Moudy, Dennis Norris, Tony Brooks, Billy Bridges, Larry Burroughs and Bobby Fuller.
A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 12 to 2 pm with a service to follow in the chapel with Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
The family requests that any memorials be made to Mississippi Alzheimer’s Association, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, or St. Jude’s Hosptial for Children. A special thanks is offered to the loving caregivers, Linda Neal, Penny Sweet, Enhabit Staff, and others for their loving care and assistance.
