Attorney Blake Teller introduced a resolution on Tuesday at the Board of Supervisors meeting.
The resolution was aimed for the Board to acknowledge the presence of “emergency circumstances” which necessitate the swift repair of the boat landing at LeTourneau.
Teller urged the presiding Vice President to sign a resolution for immediate repairs at the location.
“Due to the issues with silting in and the need for a boat landing in that vicinity for emergency purposes among other purposes for the public.” Teller explained.
These repairs would accommodate cruise boats that have received approval to use LeTourneau for docking when the water level at the typical downtown dock is insufficient. The Board recently approved just such a request from Viking Cruise Lines at a July Board Meeting.
The resolution received unanimous approval from the Board and was subsequently signed.
