BREAKING NEWS – Arrest Made in Tallulah Double Homicide

From PJ Tracy, Publisher of the Madison Journal We have received word from the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Department that an East Carroll man has been arrested for the murder of two Tallulah teens. Walter Walker, a 27 year old black male, was arrested in Lake Providence, Louisiana and is being held pending his arraignment on two counts of second degree murder The victims have been identified as 18 year old Nikesha Washington and 19 year old Jasmine Smith. Washington’s body was discovered in a wooded area near Wright Elementary School. Smith’s body was discovered in Tallulah City Park. The young women are believed to have been killed on Friday, June 17, 2011. Washington’s body was discovered in the early evening hours of that day, while Smith’s body was not found until the early morning hours of Saturday, June 18th. There will be more to report tomorrow.
