Bring in the New Year in Vicksburg

As the days inch closer to the year 2020, Vicksburg is more than prepared for its arrival. Several organizations will be hosting events throughout the city to help celebrate the New Year. 

Listed below are just a few of the New Year festivities taking place.

New Year’s Speakeasy on the Roof

This event takes place on Dec. 31 at the Cottonwood Public House, 1311 Washington St., from 8 p.m.until 1 a.m.

New Year’s Eve Ball

Join the David L. Hubbard Foundation for a “Night in Paris” at the Vicksburg City Auditorium, 1600 Mulberry St., at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 for a ball. Tickets are $30.

Music at Waterview Casino

This music fest starts at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Waterview Casino, 3990 Washington St.

Backwater Boogie and New Year’s Eve Bash

Backwater Boogie will play at the Mississippi Barbecue Company, 717 Grove St.,starting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31. The New Year’s Eve Bash starts at 9 p.m.and ends at 1 a.m. Jan. 1.

Live Blues at LD’s 

On Dec. 31 live blues music will serenade the crowd at LD’s, 1111 Mulberry St., starting at 9 p.m.

Repeat Offender live at the Biscuit Company

The Biscuit Company of Vicksburg, 610 Grove St., is having a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31. Repeat Offender is playing from 8 p.m until midnight, and there will be a champagne toast at midnight.

Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster and Midnight Breakfast Buffet

Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster will ring in the New Year at the Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St., on Dec. 31 starting at 8 p.m. $50.

A New Year’s Eve Breakfast buffet is available from 11 p.m., Dec. 31 until 2 a.m., Jan. 1, for $9.95.

NYE Party in Paradise

Margaritaville Hotel, 1310 Mulberry St., is featuring half-priced games in the arcade all day on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. On New Year’s eve, there will be a DJ from 6 to 10 p.m. and a balloon drop at 9 p.m.
