Brown given $5 million bond for attempted murder of a law enforcement officer

Murder suspect, BJ Brown has been given a $5 million bond for the attempted murder of a police officer in Erin, Tennessee.

Brown allegedly shot Erin police officer Darrel Tiebor last week during a traffic stop. At the time of the shooting, Brown was wanted in New Orleans for the killing of Vicksburg native Cassandra Jones.

The shooting of Jones occurred around 9:30 a.m. on June 27 in the 1400 block of Iberville Street in New Orleans. The incident was captured on video. The suspect, identified as Brown, is seen brutally shooting Jones as she lay helpless. The incident sparked a manhunt which eventually led to Tennessee.

While in Tennesee, Brown was stopped by Erin police officer, Darrel Tiebor. Brown allegedly shot Tiebor and fled the scene.

On the morning of June 29, Brown was apprehended by Erin police officers, putting an end to the manhunt.

Brown still faces a second-degree murder charge in Louisiana for Jones’ death.
