Vicksburg High School baseball player Decedric Brown commits to Arkansas Baptist University

Decedric Brown, a baseball player from Vicksburg High School, has signed with Arkansas Baptist University.
Brown has been playing baseball since he was five years old when his Godfather taught him to play. He started with a little league baseball team and later played for Vicksburg Junior High. Brown became a true athlete during his freshman year.
“I worked on my game every day and pushed harder in every practice to get my game to where it needed to be,” Brown said.
During his high school years, Brown played for head coach Antonio Calvin, who built a successful program at VHS.
Brown has many career highlights, but his fondest memory was helping VHS win the district championship during his junior and senior years while being selected for the All-County Team.
“I didn’t think we were going to do it but it really felt good when we pulled it off,” Brown said.
As Brown is now in the final stages of his senior year, he is excited about playing college baseball.
“I feel good and if I go up there and not play around I can earn me a starting position,” Brown said.
Brown, son of Latricia Brown and Patrick Thomas, thanked everyone who supported him throughout his career.
“I want to thank all my friends, family, and coaches for everything over the years,” Brown said.
