Buc-ee’s, the world’s largest convenience store, is set to open a location in Ruston, LA.

The Texas-based company received approval during a city council meeting held on Monday.

The city stated the business will encompass over 53,000 square feet and be furnished with 120 gas pumps. Over 200 jobs are expected to be created with wages starting out at $16 per hour.

The business will also offer health, vacation and 401-K matching benefits.

“This is a tremendous project,” Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker told KSLA. “We are so grateful that Buc-ee’s has decided to locate its first travel center in the state here in Ruston. The capital investment is huge and the 200+ jobs being created are extraordinary for the citizens of Ruston. We are excited to welcome Buc-ee’s to our community and look forward to their success.”

The store will be located off the Tarbutton Road exit. Construction is set to begin later this year. The store is expected to open its doors sometime in 2025.
