Bullard announces she will not seek reelection to school board
In an announcement on social media, District 5 school board member Sally Bullard stated she will not seek re-election. Here is her statement:
So after much consideration, I’ve decided not to run for re-election as a school board member. A lot of things went in to play. My last child graduated from RCEC. I’ve always felt that board members should have someone in the district. But honestly the main reason, these last three years have been emotionally draining, stressful and disheartening. I was raised in Vicksburg. I saw a side of our community that I just don’t want to be a part of any longer. We have to be better. We have to be supportive. We can not allow politics to play into the children of our community and education.
I can not tell you how wonderful Chad Shealy, David Campbell, Cedric Magee, Jim Stirgus, Alonzo Stevens, Bryan Pratt and Kimble Slaton are. As a community we couldn’t be more fortune to have folks that ALWAYS ask the question “ is this good for children?” Before decisions are made. I hope the person that takes my spot understands the scope of the job and the expectations of the CHILDREN in our district.
