Camper in tow catches fire on Highway 61
A camper in tow caught flames on Highway 61, just miles from Redwood Elementary School at around 9:45 a.m. on Friday.
Units with Northeast and Culkin happened to be doing a public service event at Redwood Elementary when the call came in. Within minutes they were able to arrive on the scene.
“We were at the Redwood School for their Farm Day and Fire Safety Day and we got dispatched out to a camper fire on 61 North,” said Jeff Riggs with the Warren County Fire Service.
Warren County Sheriff’s Office, along with Warren County Firefighter units Cedrick Martin, Lee Williams, Zach Hearn, Jeff Riggs and Fire Boss Jerry Briggs all responded.
The camper was able to be detached from the truck that was pulling it before firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.
The camper was a complete loss. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
