Southern Miss will face off with Tulane tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Armed Forces Bowl.

USM is led by fourth-year coach Jay Hopson, who has been preparing his team for the past couple of weeks for the big game.

Tulane is a 7-point favorite over the Golden Eagles, which means the odds are against USM as they try to pull off an upset.

Hopson is no stranger to leading his team to upset higher-ranked teams, though. In Hopson’s first game as head coach in 2016, the Golden Eagles shocked all of college football when they defeated Kentucky 44-35

Junior quarterback Jack Abraham has been leading USM for the past two seasons, and this will be his first bowl game as a Golden Eagle. Former St. Aloysius football player DeMichael Harris is one of Abraham’s key targets on the offense. He caught six passes in the team’s last game, a loss against Florida Atlantic.

Hopson also has another St. Aloysius standout on offense. Drake Dorbeck starts at offensive tackle and is Abraham’s lead blocker this season.

The Golden Eagles are well equipped with talented players as they prepare to pull out a victory tomorrow morning. If USM scores a win against Tulane, it will be the first bowl game win for the Golden Eagles since 2017.
