Candidates Forum this Thursday night at the Courthouse

This Thursday night at 6 p.m. voters in Warren County will have an opportunity to question the candidates for local and some statewide races. The event will be held in the Courthouse on the second floor in the Circuit courtroom.
The event is sponsored by the Vicksburg Branch of the NAACP, Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Blacks in Government. Delta Sigma Sorority’s Gertrude Young said “Candidates will be allowed two minutes to give their platform, followed by a question and answer period with questions from the audience.” The questions will need to be submitted in writing at the event.
At the close of the event the candidates will be allowed two minutes for their final comments.
Young said they are expecting Lieutenant Governor candidate Jay Hughes, Central District Transportation Commission candidate Willie Simmons and Attorney General candidate Jennifer Riley Collins from the statewide races and all of the candidates from the local races.
This event is usually well attended. You may wish to come early to find a good parking spot.
