Carl Lee Thompson entered eternal peace on Friday, March 17, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Zion, Illinois, to the late Charlie J. Turner and Josephine F. Thompson on May 19, 1948. He married his late wife, Felecia, on September 14, 1991.

He graduated from North Chicago High School in 1966. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1973. He worked for the Waukegan public school district’s main distributing warehouse for over 20 years until his retirement.

Carl was known as the family’s “Mr. Fix It.” There was nothing he couldn’t fix. If he didn’t get it the first time, he wouldn’t stop until he found a way to get the job done. In his famous words, “Nothing beats a failure but a try, kiddo.”

He loved teasing and joking with his nieces, nephews, siblings, and daughters with the biggest smile on his face. His outgoing personality touched everyone he met. He loved and valued his family, and his wife and daughters were his world.

His memory will live in our hearts forever, and he will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ira and Robert Turner and Cleo and Terry Thompson and one sister, Clara Turner.

Carl leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, Toccara and Chandra, his siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Carl Lee Thompson on March 30, 2023, 12:00 PM at First Christian Church, 1048 MS-548, Hermanville, MS.
