Carol Sue Parish Wilson, 1946 – 2020

Carol Sue Parish Wilson passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at Sharkey Issaquena Nursing Home. She was 74 years old.

She was born May 28, 1946, in Delta City, Mississippi. She graduated from Delta Beauty School in Greenville, Mississippi, in 1974. She was a licensed beautician for 40 years. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years. She was postmaster at the Delta City and Cary, Mississippi, post offices. She retired as postmaster of Cary in 2012.

She loved her grandchildren more than life itself.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alice Parish, and her sisters Betty Stevens and Mattie Parish.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Hodges (David); her grandchildren Katy Hodges and Will Hodges; a niece Cindy Stevens McKay (Clifton); a nephew, Joseph Richard Stevens; and many cousins.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, at Hollandale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include David Hodges, Jr., Wilson David Hodges, Joseph Richard Stevens, Joel Harvey Sandifer III, James Franklin Wilson and Larry Dale Wilson.

Rev. Sam Riddell will be officiating the service.
