Carter and Johnson selected to play in the Bernard Blackwell Classic

Vicksburg High School football players Tyler Carter and Demarcus Johnson have been selected to play in the Bernard Blackwell Classic Game.

Tyler Carter:

Carter plays on the defensive line for the Gators and has already committed to playing for Mississippi State next year. In 2022, Carter had 50 tackles and five sacks and helped VHS to the third round of the players.

Demarcus Johnson:

Johnson is one of the most aggressive defensive lineman in the state. He grabbed 10 sacks to go along with his 85 tackles as he was named as the VDN Defensive Player of the Year. Johnson now has scholarship offers from Coahoma CC, East Mississippi CC, Co-Lin CC and Alcorn State University.

Both Johnson and Carter are both standout athletes who are huge reasons on why VHS is having another successful year in under Head Coach Christopher Lacey.

The Bernard Blackwell Classic will be played in Gulfport on December 9.
