Carter scored 16 points in Gators’ 50-36 win over Forrest Hill

The Vicksburg High School Missy Gators smashed Forest Hill High School 50-36 Tuesday in the Jackson Public Schools Trustmark Holiday Basketball Tournament.

Sophomore Layla Carter scored 16 points to go along with her 12 rebounds to lead the Gators past Forest Hill.

Ja’Na Colenburg contributed 9 points for the Gators, who are now running an 8-5 record. Teammate Destini Sims also added 8 points in the win as well.

VHS will travel to Callaway Jan. 5 to play the Chargers in an away game.
