Cat adoption special at Vicksburg Animal Shelter extended

An adoption special at the City of Vicksburg Animal Shelter includes some discounts on adoption fees.
For $30 a lucky cat or kitten can be adopted. The adoption fee includes a spay and/or neuter, the cat or kitten’s first set of shots and the rabies vaccine during the spay/neuter appointment. During this special, two cats or kittens can be adopted for just $50.

Originally, the special was set to end on Aug. 26, however, Kacie Lindsey has agreed to extend this special until next Friday, Sep. 2. Unfortunately, the shelter has seen no adoptions this week and the animals are in desperate need of loving homes.
There are some benefits to adopting two cats or kittens at once. According to a post on the Animal Shelter’s page, two kittens can keep each other company rather than getting lonely or bored. There will be fewer behavioral issues when cats have another cat companion. And, of course, adopting two cats or kittens saves two lives instead of only one.

The Animal Shelter works hard to save the lives of animals and find them safe and caring homes. Due to an overwhelming amount of strays and owner surrenders, it can be a challenge for them to keep up with the influx of animals in need if there are not enough people willing to adopt.
As always, their goal is to place animals and make room for more who are in need. Locals can help by always choosing to spay and neuter their pets and help get the word out about the animals who await a family each day at the shelter.
