Celebration of life for Vicksburg’s Dahlia Grissom announced
Listen to this articleA Celebration of Life has been scheduled for Dahlia Grissom, Sunday, June 19, at greater Grove Street M.B. Church at 2 p.m. Dahlia will lie in repose at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
Professional services are being provided by C J Williams Mortuary Services.
Dahlia was diagnosed in 2020 with DIPG, or diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma. DIPG is an aggressive and difficult to treat type of brain tumor found in the brainstem that primarily affects children.
She was supported by the community, including the Missy Gators who raised $6,000 for her during their annual Strikeout Cancer Tournament on March 27.
Dahlia recently was celebrated at her Magical PreBirthday Prom event on May 13. Many friends and family within the community showed out to celebrate with Dahlia.
