Cheryl Floyd Swan, 1954 – 2020

Cheryl Floyd Swan passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday morning, Feb. 19, 2020, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 10, 1954, in Vicksburg, Miss., a daughter of the late William Franklin Floyd and Flora Mae Floyd.

Cheryl was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Franklin Floyd.

Cheryl was a loving mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She was known for her infectious smile and ability to make others laugh. She enjoyed arts, crafts, and spending time with her friends and family.

Cheryl taught school for over 35 years. She was a dedicated teacher with a true passion for helping children develop an appreciation for learning by making school fun.

Cheryl is survived by two daughters, Healy Swan Noblin and husband Jeff, and Mary Swan Monteleone and husband Josh, and one son, Daniel Joseph Swan IV; two grandchildren, Josephine Mae Monteleone, 8, and Lena Swan Monteleone, 6; and one brother Ronald William Floyd.  She also leaves many friends who will sadly miss her.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. with services to follow on March 7, 2020, at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 1830 Cherry St., Vicksburg, Miss.
