Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol showed up on Harrison Street on Friday to pay a visit to ‘Super’ Brody Larry, self-proclaimed Police Chief and Fire Chief, with cruisers and a S.W.A.T. truck.

Brody’s admiration for law enforcement and first responders is not unusual for kids his age.  When the good folks at VPD and MHP got wind of Brody’s prestigious new titles, they decided it was time they checked in with their new boss.

Brody is fighting a very rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, and has been receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Through it all, Brody is a bright and inquisitive young man with a sunny outlook and contagious smile.  Touring the S.W.A.T. truck and trying various equipment excited the boy, and there were smiles all around.
