Christopher Lacey, Vicksburg Junior High School defensive coordinator, has been promoted to defensive coordinator at Vicksburg High School for the upcoming 2020 season.

Lacey announced his promotion yesterday on a Facebook post.

“Excited and blessed to be promoted to defensive coordinator at Vicksburg High School,” he wrote.

Last season at VJHS, Lacey was a big part of the team’s success as they finished with a perfect 8-0 record. Lacey led a defense known for stopping the opposing team’s offense and not giving up a lot of points in any ball game.

VJHS head coach Larry Carter Jr put his trust in Lacey to help lead the team, which brought home a Little Six Championship last season.

At Vicksburg High, Lacey will be working under first-year head coach Todd McDaniel who plans on helping the Gators reach their full potential.

Lacey is a graduate of Warren Central High School and a 2009 graduate of Mississippi College where he helped the Choctaws win the American Southwest Conference championship his senior year.
