Orlando Antonio Ciero, 31, of Jackson, was seen in Justice Court on Wednesday and was denied a bond by Judge Crevitt.  Ciero is charged with auto theft and felony eluding.

On Monday at around 7:30 p.m., someone reported their 2003 Chevy pickup truck stolen from a parking lot. Deputy Sheriff McBride spotted the stolen vehicle 15 minutes later in the Flowers area while on patrol. McBride tried to pull over the driver, but they refused to stop and instead sped up on Interstate 20, reaching speeds over 100 mph.

McBride continued to follow the suspect, and when they reached the Clinton city limits, the Clinton authorities took over lead of the pursuit with McBride following. The chase persisted until the driver took the Highway 18 exit and crashed at the intersection of Highway 18 and Greenway Drive, within the Jackson city limits. The driver then fled on foot, leading to a coordinated effort to capture them.

A police officer from Clinton apprehended the suspect near a Walmart, ending the high-speed chase. Paramedics from AMR assessed the suspect at the scene, and they were transported to Warren County.
