Cinnamon Tree shoplifting suspect arrested

Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department have arrested a suspect for felony shoplifting in connection with an incident at The Cinnamon Tree in downtown Vicksburg last week.

On Friday, Dec. 11, officers responded to The Cinnamon Tree, 1322 Washington St., in reference to the theft of eight Hobo brand wallets valued at $125 each.

Officers arrested Valerie Morris, 59, of Greenville, Mississippi, Friday, Dec. 18, on a warrant for felony shoplifting.

She appeared before Judge Penny Lawson in Vicksburg Municipal Court Friday. Lawson bound her over to the Warren County grand jury on a $15,000 bond.
