Judge Angela Carpenter has set bail at $1 million for Byron Griffin, a suspect in the Circle K shooting incident that took place in the early hours of Saturday morning. Griffin is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Shirray Harris, a 46-year-old resident of Vicksburg. The decision regarding bail was made during a hearing on Monday morning at Vicksburg Municipal Court.

Upon posting bail, Griffin will be subject to strict conditions. He will be required to wear an ankle monitor at all times, prohibiting him from leaving a designated area. Additionally, he will be forbidden from possessing any weapons or ammunition. Moreover, the court will impose an 8 p.m. curfew on Griffin, further limiting his movements outside his residence.

The shooting occurred on Saturday at around 2:19 a.m. when Vicksburg police officers received a call of a shooting at a Circle K convenience store on Washington Street. Upon arrival, police discovered the body of Shirray Harris lying in the parking lot. Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey pronounced Harris dead.

Deputy Chief Mike Bryant shed light on the details surrounding the shooting. He revealed that officers were dispatched to the store following reports of a shooting. While the precise circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation, it is believed that an altercation occurred, resulting in the fatal shooting of Harris.

Griffin was taken into custody and charged with murder.
