City authorizes funds to build road from Chick-fil-A to Bazinsky Park
A bid to complete a road extension east of the Chick-fil-A on Halls Ferry Road to Bazinsky Park was approved during Monday’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting.
Allen and Hoshall, based in Jackson, Mississippi, will survey and design the road, overseeing the actual construction by a sub-contractor yet to be named.
The road will provide access from the Halls Ferry Road complex to the Bazinsky Park sports complex for fire and other emergency vehicles in addition to the general public.
Fire Station 8 is located in the area just east of the Chick-fil-A, but has no direct access to Bazinsky Park.
The initial estimate for the project was $300,000; however, that amount is not referenced in the contract attached to the agenda item for Monday’s meeting.
