City draws a line in the sand with Jacques

The City Of Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Alderman voted to give Jacques until 3 p.m. today to sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
The press release said:
The City of Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted unanimously in the July 24, 2023, Executive Session to give Jacques until 3 PM to sign the confidential Memorandum of Understanding or the City will file a petition in the Warren County Chancery Court to declare Jacques a public nuisance and for it’s potential closure.
Jacques and its parking lot have been involved in two shootings since May 6 of this year. The first wounded 4 security guards for Jacques. Warrants were issued for that shooting.
The second shooting on July 5 had over 100 rounds recovered and a window at the nearby convention center damaged by a stray bullet.
On July 10, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to have Jacques and their landlord, The Mulberry, provide a Memorandum of Understanding to keep the public safe. Jacques moved into that location in November 2022.
The Vicksburg Daily News reached out to Jay Parmigiani asking if he had a comment on the action of the Mayor and Aldermen. He responded, “Naw, what were the actions?” We sent him the above press release noting the confidential Memorandum and Parmegiana responded, “Doesn’t seem so confidential does it?”
