Claiborne County authorities seize multiple illegal weapons Friday

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies worked alongside Port Gibson police to ensure safe graduation celebrations on Friday.

“Our goal is to put FUN back in our community, and while doing so, SAFETY COMES FIRST,” said a post on the Claiborne County Sheriff Department’s Facebook page.

Several illegal firearms were recovered from the checkpoints, as well as small quantities of marijuana and alcohol.  Multiple juveniles were detained as a result.

Local law enforcement agencies across the region have increased patrols to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy a safe Memorial Day weekend.
