Claiborne County Deputies make arrests in commercial burglary case

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department announced two recent arrests involving commercial burglary.

Claiborne County Deputies responded to a call of a commercial burglary on Hwy 61 South on March 11, 2023. Two suspects were detained and brought to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department. The suspects have been identified as 41-year-old white male John Williamson and 48-year-old white male Steven Galey. The two individuals have been charged with Grand larceny for stealing and possessing copper wire.

The case has been bound over to the next Grand Jury. The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department expressed their gratitude towards Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Daniel Slayton for his assistance in the case.

This location has been the target of several burglaries in the past, and more arrests are expected to be made in the near future.
