Claiborne County water distribution event is underway

VICKSBURG, Miss. (Vicksburg Daily News)–The Claiborne County water distribution drive is underway at the Sheriff’s Office at 410 Market Street in Port Gibson.

The SHINE Project has partnered with the Claiborne County Sheriff Department to host a drive-thru format distribution of water.

“We met with Sheriff Goods with Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department and we did a partnership where we could provide water to the citizens of Claiborne County,” stated Mississippi SHINE Director George Dixon.

252 total cases are being given away, with one per household allowed to be claimed. The event is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“We try to be persistent in giving back. This is our 8th giveaway,” said Claiborne County Sheriff Edward Goods. ”
