Vicksburg, MS– The City of Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen, in a special meeting on Tuesday, decided to seek the use of two companies to remove debris left by receding flood waters from the Mississippi River. City Clerk Walter Osborne will seek two proposals; one company to collect, remove and dispose of debris and the other to oversee debris collection and disposal and ensure that it meets federal regulations. Mayor Paul Winfield said that by hiring a separate company to oversee debris collection will ensure the company collecting the waste is following FEMA guidelines. The city hopes to award the contracts at the June 24 board meeting according to Mayor Paul Winfield.]]]]> ]]>
